This is a 60mins class and will be conducted over Microsoft Teams.

Materials needed:

1. Paper (A4 size)
2. Pencil
3. Sharpener
4. Eraser
5. Sketch Pens/Colour Pencils or Water Colours (Ideal)
6. Watercolour Brushes-Round, long haired, Sizes: any from 0-7.  A good place to buy them is Cassart.co.uk
7. Colour Palette
8. Glass of water
9. Ruler
10. Black Sketch pen/Gel pen
11. Kitchen Towel/Tissue paper

The workshop will introduce you to the heritage of this artform, summarise the painting techniques and materials involved. You shall see a few typical paintings made by grassroots artists. One of the distinctive aspects of Gond Painting are the preservation of ancient knowledge and wisdom about nature within its artistic themes. The artistic representation of the Saja tree is an example of this. You shall learn to draw this tree using one type of pattern common to Gond art.
